1. CONTEST SPONSOR
The Pendo MCP Hackathon (the "Contest") is sponsored by Pendo.io, Inc., located at 301 Hillsborough St. Suite 1900 Raleigh, NC 27603 ("Pendo" or "Sponsor").
2. CONTEST PERIOD
Contest Timeline:
- Announcement Date: November 12, 2025
- Registration Period: November 12, 2025 through January 22, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET
- Hacking Period: Minimum thirty (30) days from Announcement Date
- Submission Deadline: January 22, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET
- Judging Period: Approximately seven (7) days following Submission Deadline
- Community Voting Period: Five (5) days during Judging Period
- Winner Announcement: January 29, 2025
All times are in Eastern Time (ET). Sponsor is the official timekeeper for the Contest.
3. ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible to participate, you must:
- Be 18 years of age or older as of the date of entry
- Be affiliated with a current paid Pendo customer organization as of the Announcement Date
- "Affiliation" means being a current full-time or part-time employee of a paid Pendo customer organization with a valid company email address from that organization.
- Individuals associated with Pendo Free accounts are NOT eligible
- Be an Individual or teams of one (1) to four (4) people, all of whom must meet eligibility requirements
- Designate a Team Lead for all official communications
NOT ELIGIBLE:
- Employees, officers, directors, agents, and representatives of Pendo.io, Inc., its parent companies, subsidiaries, and affiliates
- Independent contractors, consultants, freelancers, temporary workers, interns, vendors, and any individuals who provide services to a Pendo customer organization but are not direct employees
- Immediate family members and household members of the above
- Residents of jurisdictions where contest is prohibited by law
Sponsor reserves the right to verify eligibility and may request proof of customer affiliation.
4. HOW TO ENTER
Registration: Register through the official Pendo MCP Hackathon portal at [INSERT URL] during the Registration Period.
Submission Requirements:
All submissions must include ALL of the following to be eligible:
- Project Information:
- Project name (maximum 100 characters)
- Written description (50-200 words)
- Team member names, company, and email addresses
- Designate a Team Lead for all official communications
- Technical Requirements:
- All submissions must utilize Pendo's official external MCP server as a core component of their implementation, demonstrating meaningful integration with Pendo data or functionality. Participants may supplement their projects with additional MCP servers or tools, but the Pendo MCP server must play a substantive role in the submission's architecture and demonstrated use case.
- Demo Video:
- Length: 2-5 minutes
- Format: Upload to YouTube, Vimeo, Loom or other video hosting link, link must be accessible to
- Must include: team introduction, problem statement, solution overview, live demonstration, and 1-2 real-world use cases
- • Quality Standards: Video must have clear audio and visual quality. Poor quality that prevents evaluation may result in disqualification
- Documentation:
- One-page document describing use case and technical architecture
- Template provided by Sponsor
Limit: One submission per individual or team
Originality: All MCP servers must be original work created during the Contest period. Use of open-source libraries is permitted but must be disclosed.
5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
You retain ownership of all intellectual property rights in your submission.
License to Pendo: By submitting, you grant Pendo a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to showcase, promote, and reference your submission in marketing materials, blog posts, social media, events, and other promotional activities.
Your Representations: You represent that your submission is your original work, does not infringe third-party rights, and you have authority to grant the above license.
6. JUDGING AND WINNER SELECTION
Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of qualified judges selected by Sponsor, which may include Pendo leadership from Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success, as well as external subject matter experts. The final composition of the judging panel will be determined at Sponsor's sole discretion and announced prior to the judging period.
Judging Criteria:
- Innovation & Creativity (25%): Originality of concept and creative use of MCP protocol
- Practical Value (25%): Solves real problems with clear ROI or time savings
- Technical Execution & Pendo Integration (35%): Proper MCP implementation and meaningful use of Pendo data
- Documentation & Demo (15%): Quality of documentation and clarity of video demo
Process:
- Each judge independently scores all submissions
- Top 5 highest-scoring submissions advance as finalists
- Community voting determines People's Choice Award
- In the event of a tie in total scores, the submission with the higher score in Technical Execution & Pendo Integration will be ranked higher, and if still tied, the submission received earliest during the Submission Period will be ranked higher.
- All judging decisions are final
7. PRIZES
Total Prize Pool:
$800 USD in Postal platform credits and Pendomonium 2026 conference tickets with a face value of $1,999 USD per ticket.
Prize Distribution:
1st Place: $500 in platform credits + feature spotlight + exclusive Product team meeting + premium swag + community recognition + 2 VIP Pendomonium 2026 tickets
2nd Place: $200 in platform credits + blog feature + swag + community recognition + 1 VIP Pendomonium 2026 ticket
3rd Place: $100 in platform credits + social media spotlight + swag + community recognition
Prize Conditions:
Prizes are non-transferable and have no cash value
For teams, prizes awarded to Team Lead for distribution
Winners must respond within 7 days and complete required forms within 14 days
8. GENERAL CONDITIONS
Disqualification: Sponsor may disqualify participants for violating rules, fraud, misconduct, or inappropriate behavior.
Modifications: Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Contest if technical failures, fraud, or other factors impair the Contest's integrity.
Limitation of Liability: Participants agree that Sponsor's total liability shall not exceed the total value of prizes offered. Participants release Sponsor from all claims related to participation.
9. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES
These Official Rules are governed by Delaware law without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts of Delaware, and participants consent to such jurisdiction.
10. WINNER NOTIFICATION
Winners will be announced at a live virtual event on a date to be determined. Winners will also be notified via email to the address provided during registration within five (5) business days of the announcement event.
All potential winners are subject to verification by Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right to require proof of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules, including but not limited to:
• Proof of affiliation with a paid Pendo customer organization
• Government-issued identification confirming age and identity
11. PRIVACY
Personal information collected will be used for Contest administration, winner selection, and promotional purposes in accordance with Pendo's Privacy Policy at https://www.pendo.io/legal/privacy-policy/.
BY PARTICIPATING, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE OFFICIAL RULES.
